TNL bids 'back handed adieu'

Bidding 'a back handed adieu' to former Deputy Commissioner ofUkhrul Hrisheekesh Arvind Modak, the Tangk hui Naga Long recalled the prohibition enforced under 144 CrPC during Modak's tenure on August 30, 2014 .
In a statement, president of TNL Weapon Zimik alleged that the prohibition was imposed although there was absolute peace and tranquillity in Ukhrul district headquarters.
Stating that Manipur police commandos and IRB personnel were heavily deployed at the district headquarters and Mayopam Ramror and Ramkashing Yashi died in the firing of security forces, TNL said that thousands of Tangkhul men and women could have been killed had Assam Rifles personnel not rushed to the area.
He further said that development was nil and the condition of State highways, district, sub-divisional and village roads are in pathetic condition.
Zimik said that Tangkhul people are now looking forward to brighter days.
