CM inaugurates power station, PS; lays foundation for I/E Hospital

Imphal, December 16 2011:
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh inaugurated various projects taken up under the Flagship Scheme and other schemes of the UPA and SPF government at different places of Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency today.
The projects inaugurated today by the Chief Minister include a 33/11 KV Sub-Station at Yumnam Patlou in Sagolmang and the Sagolmang Police Station.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of the Imphal East District Hospital, which would have 100 beds at Sagolmang.
The inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony was followed by a public meeting at the premises of Ereima Play Ground, Sagolmang.
Speaking at the occasion, CM O Ibobi said that the Dolaithabi Multi Purpose Project, which is designed to provide water both for drinking and irrigation purposes to the people of Imphal East district will be inaugurated by June next year.
He informed that the Dolaithabi Multi Purpose Project was targeted to be completed before the forthcoming Assembly election, but due to the 120-day long economic blockade imposed by SHDDC and UNC along the NHs of the state, the required materials for completion of the project could not reach the state in time.
Nevertheless, efforts are being made to complete the project by June next year, he assured.
The Chief Minister said that even if the state government has enough funds at its disposal for implementing various developmental works, there are very few agencies willing to take up the work in the state owing to the fluid law and order situation in the state.
But let us co-operate with each other while executing the construction of the 100 bedded District Hospital in Sagolmang and see that no disturbances is given during its execution.
The construction works will be taken up very shortly.
All required funds have already been sanctioned.
With the completion of this hospital, people of Saikul will also be benefitted, he added.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the 33/11 KV Sub-Station which has been inaugurated today would certainly lessen the problem faced by the people of the area due to lack of power supply.
Praising all concerned for the quality of the building constructed for the Police station at Sagolmang, the Chief Minister observed that no such Police Stations of high quality maintenance have been ever constructed in the state.
Presided over by Deputy Speaker Th Lokeshwar, the function was also attended by Power Minister Phungzathang Tonsing, Health Minister L Jayentakumar, MPCB Chairman E Dwijamani, Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board Bijoy Koijam and MLA M Prithviraj as Guests of Honour.
