SHDDC defers action plan date

The Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee convened a meeting today but put off any definite decision until December 20 .
According to SHDDC secretary Tonghen Kipgen, more consultative meetings would be held before a definite decision is declared on December 20 .
On the other hand, the Committee on Re-organisation of Administrative and Police Boundary held another round of public hearing today where three different organisations gave their opinions and views.
During the public hearing held at the Chief Secretary's office, the Committee Against the Creation of Sadar Hills District demanded that Zeliangrong villages located within Sadar Hills should be first brought within Tamenglong district before creating Sadar Hills district.
They also demanded implementation of the letter written by the Union Home Minister to the State Government
in 1990 .
The Apunba Kurkhul Nupi Chaokhat Lup maintained that all the Naga and Kuki villages located within Khurkhul should be kept under Sekmai SDC.
Chief of Charoipungdong (Pungringlong) Painaichung demanded that his village located within Saitu-Gamphazol sub-division should be brought under Nungba sub-division.
