MKS expresses gratitude for aid to fire victims

Imphal, March 16 2012:
Maram Students' Union (MKS) and Maram Bazar Board have conveyed gratitude to Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh for consenting to the request of MLA Francis Ngajokpa for extending aid to the people who have suffered following the devastating fire at Maram Bazar on March 11 where 19 shops were reduced to ashes and 29 houses damaged, leaving behind the occupants homeless.
According to a statement issued by President of MKS Pungdi P Celestine informed that MLA Francis Ngajokpa handed over Rs 9,50,000 as immediate relief to the local relief committee in an interactive session with the victims at Maram Bazar on March 15 .
MKS has also acknowledged its gratitude to various other organsiations and individuals including Ex-MLA K Raima, DC Senapati, 59 Mountain Brigade Red Shield Division, 5 Assam Rifles, 43 Assam Rifles, 98 RCC/15 BRTF, SDSA, SDCC, etc for their support to the victims.
