Imphal, March 16 2012:
The first Imphal International Short Film Festival would be held from April 15 to 18 here which would be jointly organised by Action for Social Advancement (ASA), Legend Studio and Film Forum Manipur.
The highlights of the festival�with the theme explore, enjoy and share� included screening of films, collaborative work of participating filmmakers, secretary of ASA Mohen Naorem, who is also the Festival Director told media persons.
He said, submissions are open to all language films of all genres (fiction, animation, documentary, experimental, music video etc) from any Nation of the world.
However, all non-English foreign films and regional Indian films must have English sub-titles.
He added that ideally, the short films should not exceed 30 minutes.
Interested film-makers may send their entries for the festival till March 31 .
Stating that the festival would showcase the world's best contemporary short films, he said the organising committee has decided entry of short films in nine different categories for award including Best Short Film, Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Musical Score and three special mention (critic choice) .
The festival would be held with Films and TV World, and The Manipur Journal as media partners, he said.
Mohen said entries of 19 short Indian films and five award winning International films have been okayed for the festival so far.
