Imphal, March 02 2012:
The Maoist Communist Party, Manipur in a press statement today reiterated its stand on the private schools of the state and said that Maoist would in no way compromise on the guidelines given to the schools.
It observed that the ban on Heritage Convent, Uripok could have been averted if the school authority welcomed the cadres of Maoist who went to talk about the matter of the school.
However, an understanding has been arrived with the school authorities.
According to the understanding, the excess amount of admission fee taken would be adjusted with the tuition fees of one month and students would have to pay tuition fees only for 11 months.
Among other schools, Sishu Nishitha Niketan was found taking much higher amount of admission and tuition fees from the students.
The school charged Rs 5500 to Rs 6500 as admission fees and Rs 1250 to 1650 as tuition fees in addition to lab fee of Rs 1500 to 2000 per annum from each student, statement pointed out, and reiterated that Maoist would not compromise with the school authority until and unless they agree with the guidelines of Maoist.
Te outfit also warned all those schools which allegedly imposed religious doctrines and practices on students in the name of education.
Citing an example, it asserted that students in some schools are forced to reply as Hare Krishna instead of Present/Yes Sir/Madam while responding to the roll call.
Clarifying its stand on the matter, the statement asserted that Maoist is not against any particular religion.
However, if any school is found indulging in such religious practices, Maoist will not remain silent.
