Imphal, March 21 2014 : At least three persons were killed while several others sustained injuries in different road mishaps during Yaoshang festival.

Police reports said that one Telem Bishonath (25) of Pungdongbam Awang Leikai died after being hit by a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle at Yourbung along Imphal-Ukhrul road under Lamlai PS in Imphal East district on Mar 18 around 11pm.On Mar 19 around 3pm, a Pulsar Motorcycle rider was 'killed when it collided with Bajaj Discover motorcycle head on at Ato Ching hillock along Gwarok Mahadeva road under Yairipok P S in Thoubal district.

The deceased biker has been identified as Akoijam Romeo (19) of Poiroukhongjin Laishram Leikai.

Meanwhile, a person identified as Khumukcham Abomcha (16) of Takhel Awang Leikai died when hit by a Tata Winger at Leisum under Lamlai PS along Imphal-Ukhrul road yesterday around 2pm.At least 60 people were said to have been admitted to RIMS and JNIMS Hospitals in different motor accidents during the Yaoshang festival, according to the reports.
