KRA act as shameful : KNF

The attack carried out by KRA cadres on Aaron Kuki, General Secretary of KNF, who is also the Convener of UPF Representatives for Political Dialogue, is a shameful act of barbarism, charged KNF.
Addressing media persons at Ebenezer camp in Sadar Hills today, Aaron Kuki alleged that armed cadres of KRA equipped with highly sophisticated weapons came to Haipi village and surrounded his residence at around 12:30 am on July 15.The cadres numbering around 16 shouted at his wife to surrender him to them.
He stated that the cadres of KRA then entered his house and took away his PSO.
At that point of time, personnel of 43 AR under the Command of Major Maratha arrived and the KRA cadres started opening fire at the AR personnel to which the AR also retaliated.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, one KRA cadre in full combat dress was killed.
The PSO of the General Secretary was later escaped from the clutches of KRA before reaching their hideout camp at Haijang village near Kangpokpi, he added.
In the light of the recent incident, Aaron Kuki asked the concerned authorities whether Suspension of Operation (SoO) does really exist and said that if at all SoO exists, than the life attempt made by KRA on him is a gross violation of SoO ground rules and at the same time a heinous crime.
He also appealed to the authority concerned to take up necessary actions in accordance with SoO ground rules and the law of the land for the sake of peace and harmony.
Otherwise, leaders of KNF would be compelled to defend themselves.The KNF has also expressed gratitude to AR for saving the life of their leader, his family and other innocent villagers.
