State records 677 single day cases, 16 fatalities
Cumulative positivity rate crosses 6 pc; may records average of 17 pc positivity rate

The state on Sunday reported 16 fatalities and 677 new positive cases from 3364 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
With these new cases, the active caseload has reached 6477 of which 3990 are recuperating in home isolation while the remaining 2487 (38.40 per cent) are undergoing treatment in healthcare facilities.
Meanwhile, the cumulative positivity rate of the state has crossed 6 per cent with Sunday recording over 20 per cent single day positivity rate.
The current month recorded 17.08 per cent positivity rate on average.
So far, 8143 cases and 173 fatalities have been reported during the current month of which 4375 new cases and 102 fatalities were reported in the last seven days.
According to official bulletins, the 677 new cases include 665 civilians (336 male & 329 female) and 12 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at JNIMS (84), RIMS (29), Imphal East (17), Imphal West (62), Maipakpi (9), Mother's Care (1), CMC (2), Hillside (3), Sielmat (1), Samaritan (8), Gilead Health Care Centre (3), Raj Medicity (32), RD Wing (11), Christian Hospital (1), Advanced Hospital (1), Asian Hospital (6), Peace Hospital (1), Jivan Hospital (14), Shija Hospitals (77), Babina Diagnostics (113), Escent Diagnostics (25), Thoubal (26), Bishnupur (22), Kakching (35), Churachandpur (34), Chandel (4), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (12), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (17) and Kamjong (2) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (159), Imphal West (263), Thoubal (33), Bishnupur (24), Kakching (71), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (70), Chandel (5), Senapati (5), Tamenglong (12), Tengnoupal (2), Kangpokpi (17) and Kamjong (2).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 16 fatalities reported on Sunday included a 51-year old female (IW), a 74-year old female (IW), a 72-year old male (IW), a 63-year old female (CCpur), a 57-year old male (CCpur), a 56-year old male (Ukl), a 63-year old male (IE), a 42-year old male (Spt), a 91-year old female (IW), a 66-year old male (Tbl), a 55-year old male (IW), a 72-year old male (IW), a 92-year old male (IW), a 97-year old male (IW), a 60-year old female (IW) and a 77-year old female (Bpr) who died at Shija Hospitals (3), DH Churachandpur (2), JNIMS (6) and RIMS (5) hospitals respectively.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 578.In the last 24 hours, 399 patients were discharged from CAPF (9), home isolation (292), RIMS (10), RD Wing (9), BB (17), NSU (15), SHRI (15), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (3), Churachandpur (13), Jiribam (2) and Ukhrul (5).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 39,729 (general population - 36,027 and CAPF personnel - 3,702).Number of recovered cases is 32,674 (general population - 29,152 and CAPF personnel - 3,522) and number of active cases is 6477 (general population -6302 and CAPF personnel - 175).The recovery rate is 82.24 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1488 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 568 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities in the state.
So far, 3,09,596 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19, CCR report said.
Meanwhile, 17 more people have been found positive for Covid-19 during RAT conducted in Kakching district on Sunday.
Two of them were tested at government testing centre while the remaining 15 were detected at Jivan Hospital.
Quoting official source, our Kakching correspondent reported that 26 people from the district have lost their lives in the pandemic and the district has now 318 active cases.
The CCC set up at Kakching Higher Secondary School is housing 42 Covid patients and only eight beds are vacant in the CCC.
The CHICs set up in different areas still have some vacant beds except for Lang-meidong Higher Secondary School, where all the beds are fully occupied.
Many people in the district are worried of a possible oxygen crisis as new cases continue to rise.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (13925), Imphal East (9188), Thoubal (3024), Churachandpur (2719), Kangpokpi (1349), Tamenglong (1637), Bishnupur (2053), Senapati (913), Ukhrul (931), Kakching (1526), Chandel (775), Noney (476), Tengnoupal (458), Jiribam (385), Kamjong (333) and Pherzawl (37).Fatalities counts in different districts are Imphal West (214), Imphal East (143), Thoubal (65), Churachandpur (47), Kangpokpi (17), Tamenglong (7), Bishnupur (38), Senapati (3), Ukhrul (6), Kakching (19), Chandel (12), Noney (1), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (1), Kamjong (2) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure differs with data released by CMOs of some districts.
The state health authority is not willing to provide district-specific case status despite repeated request from media.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 12,803 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 18,714 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,12,869 tests per million population against the national average of 2,26,220 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.45 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 3364 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 20.12 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 6.01 per cent.
