Students of Imphal College go on rampage

The students of various college of the state government are likely to agitate against the transfer of teachers in due course of time.
Reacting against transfer order of seven teachers as also the frequent transfers lecturers of the college, the students of Imphal College went on rampage and broke down the desk and benches of classrooms.
The tension is likely to aggravate further.
The students are demanding withdrawal of the transfer orders.
Speaking to media persons, General Secretary of the Imphal College Students Union said that the transfer order of seven teachers came out at a time when classes were in full swing.
The transfer orders, surprisingly was given to teachers who are regarded as best teachers in the College.
He further said that the transfer orders of the teachers should be quashed or else the students of the college would take up various forms of agitation.
A memorandum has also been submitted to the Education Minister through the Principal of the institute.
Meanwhile a press statement released by the GP Women's College students Union highly condemned the transfer of Dr Soubam Kiran and shifting in a part time lecturer in place of him.
It warned that the transfer order should be quashed before the 20th of this month or else the union will resort to severe agitations.
The Modern College Students Union also reacted against the transfer order issued to six teachers of the College in a press release issued today.
The release said that it is very unfortunate that the government has issued such an order when the students along with the concerned teachers are trying out their best to cover the syllabus, as the exams are nearing.
It is an act which would destroy the career of the students.
In another press statement released by the Oriantal College Students Union today, the Union said that it is very unfortunate to issue a transfer order to the lecturer of the college namely Dr H Lilabati at a time when classes are being carried out regularly.
Her transfer will cause a lot of trouble to the students of the college.
It should be quashed at all cost.
