The departments of Horticulture and Agriculture handed organic vegetable items from the organic outlet at Sanjenthong to AMWJU members as token of appreciation for the work done by journalists to disseminate information during this critical period, stated a press release issued by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA).
In the event held at Manipur Press Club today, MOMA Project Director K Devdutta Sharma and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) Agriculture Department Nodal Officer Sinam Radhapyari handed out the organic produce procured by MOMA to be distributed to AMWJU members.
K Devdutta Sharma lauded the efforts of media-persons and journalists and said that they are also frontline workers braving through all conditions to cover reports during this difficult time of COVID-19 pandemic.
Expressing gratitude, AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam thanked MOMA for the varieties of organic vegetables saying that the gesture was heart-warming and motivating.
He also reminded of the unfortunate incidents of journalists testing COVID-19 positive in some States and urged all journalists to maintain social distancing and other precautionary measures while reporting.
