Aid extended to destitute elder, differently-abled persons

Democratic Youth Federation (DYF), Heirok distributed edibles to one Konsam Sorosana (63), W/o Shyamo from Heirok Part-III, Kabo Leikai, today.
The elder, Sorosana has been living without any source of income, owing to her illness, with two of her daughters, of which one is mentally unstable.
Speaking to media persons, publicity secretary of DYF, Jiteshwor Shaikhom said that though the initiative of the Government providing rice to the public is laudable, taking political mileage out of the crisis by certain MLAs is very unfortunate.
Pension, edibles doled out to differently-abled persons
As a part of noble work of distributing monthly pension of Rs 300 to differently-abled persons under Singjamei Assembly Constituency since 2015, Oinam Romen Singh has distributed edibles to the differently-abled persons today apart from handing out monthly pension.
The distribution programme was held at the residence of Oinam Romen Singh at Singjamei Oinam Thingel in association with All Manipur Disabled and Handicapped Persons' Development Agency, Singjamei.
Altogether 111 beneficiaries received their monthly pension as well as the edibles.
The beneficiaries also expressed deepest gratitude to the social worker for his charitable work during such a hard phase due to the lockdown placed to contain COVID-19 in the State.
The social worker also stated that he added the edibles this time considering the plight of differently-abled persons compounded due to the lockdown.
He also maintained that he would carry on his work to help them at his level best.
Meanwhile, a team consisting of members of Sports Association for the Visually Impaired Manipur; Life Savers Manipur; NSS Unit of Biramangol College, Sawombung and Handicapped Development Foundation, Tera have extended rice, dal, edible oil, soaps etc.
to differently-abled persons residing at Andro, Imphal East.
Humanism Foundation conducts awareness cum free mask distribution at Sugnu
Humanism Foundation has conducted a mass awareness cum free distribution of homemade mask today at Sugnu Municipal area.
A team of Humanism Foundation's volunteers under the leadership of Wahengbam Rorrkychand Singh, managing trustee of the organization conducted the distribution of mask and awareness on COVID-19 at Sugnu Keithel.
In the awareness program which was attended by Chairperson, Councillors of Sugnu Municipal Council; members of Sugnu Area COVID- 19 Committee and chiefs from more than 50 villages of Sugnu area and Indo-Myanmar border, Rorrkychand encouraged all the village chiefs, local representatives and Councillors of Sugnu Municipal Council to use protective gears like a mask, hand glove and wash hands frequently and maintain social distancing at this time of crisis.
As part of the distribution of free face mask, the team of Humanism Foundation also presented a face mask to the personnel of Sugnu police personnel and Manipur Police commandos.
