3 UPRF men nabbed with drugs, cash, arms

Troops of 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) reportedly arrested three cadres of United People's Revolutionary Front (UPRF) along with narcotic drugs, weapons, Rs 70, 000 in cash and incriminating documents along Imphal-Moreh (National Highway-2) road last night.
A police source said the UPRF cadres who came in a silver colour Santro car with registration number MN 04A-5361 were arrested by troops of 40 Assam Rifles while conducting frisking and checking at Sagomsang village under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal district around 9:45 pm Wednesday.
Sagomsang is located between the villages of Waithou and Usoipokpi along NH-2.The 40 Assam Rifles is posted at Lilong in Thoubal district.

The police said the arrested trio, who have been handed over to the Lilong Police Station, is identified as Md Sher Khan (22) and his brother Abdul Rehman (21), both sons of Abdul Khalique of Sangai Yumpham Puleipokpi, Thoubal district and Md Abash Khan (24) son of Ayub Khan of Moreh Ward No 5, Chandel district.
The police said 1, 420 strips of Actidin BR tablets, five strips of Actidin tablet, 193 strips of Anipin tablet, one 9 mm pistol with magazine, one 9mm round, 303 ammos numbering five, Rs 70, 000 in cash of one thousand denomination, two demand notes of the outfit and two mobile handsets were recovered from their possession.
The car was also seized by the AR.
