All women car rally to Thailand flagged off

Imphal, January 21 2019:
Tourism Department chairman as well as MLA Dr Sapam Ranjan flagged off a carrally, for a team of 16 women, to Thailand from Hotel Classic, Chingmeirong today.
16 women from different parts ofthe country are taking part in the ten-day rally.
Speaking to media persons, Dr Sapam Ranjan said that the all-women car rally/road trip organised by Embarq Motorworld along with Western Automobile Association of India and Manipur Tourism Department is a very encouraging initiative.
He added that the women will be travelling in five cars.
Wishing the rally a huge success, he appealed all to put efforts in improving the number of tourists in the State.
On the other hand, the rally after completing and fulfilling all necessary documents at Moreh, Tengnoupal district has left for Myanmar later in the day.
Moreh Additional SP Kh Robinson, SDPO Sandip Gopal Das and Moreh PS OC Letkhohao Vaiphei received the women when it reached Moreh.
Team leader of the all-women car rally, Megha Joseph told media persons that the rally will cover 2800 kms and added that the rally has been organised in support of 'Women empowerment' and 'Women crossing borders' .
