1st anniversary of Ningol Club Heirok celebrated

The first anniversary of the one and only club for women, "Ningol Club" was celebrated at Primary School Ground of Heirok Part-II Mayai Leikai today.
The celebration was attended by District Social Welfare, Thoubal officer Arambam Kameshwor as chief guest; vice-president Ningol Club Heirok, Nongmaithem Abesana as functional president while president United Committee Manipur (UCM), Sunil Karam; president Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) Manipur, Hijam Priyokumar; and ward member Kh Ibeyaima attended the function as guests of honour.
Former General Secretary, All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA), Advocate B Supriya also attended the function as special guest.
President LEIMAKOL, MC Reeta and chief functionary IRDSO, Nonibala Narengbam attended the celebratory function as resource persons.
In her keynote speech, secretary general Ningol Club, Heirok Kh Sophiya said that the Ningol Club Heirok was formed on January 21 last year exclusively for the women members considering the rapid rise of crime against women and child in the State and to save the youths from the evil effects of drugs and alcohol.
She further said that the main objective of the club is to help hapless women acquired and developed job skills so that they can become a self-reliant and independent woman which in turn will contribute towards the growth and development of the society as well as the State adding that said club was formed in view of the changing scenario in the State.
As part of the function, winter clothes and blankets were distributed to 60 bereft senior citizens and 12 differently abled persons while a blood donation camp was also conducted in association with Life Savers Manipur, NSS BM College, NHM Manipur and JNIMS Blood Bank where about 40 donors including men and women donated blood in the camp.
