Imphal, February 18 2012:
United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has slammed the surrender programme organized at 116 Bn BSF camp, Ningthoukhong terming it as a "fruitless drama" to defame the ongoing revolutionary movement.
In a statement, UNLF pointed out that Hijam Mangoljao alias Amarjit son of H Ranjit of Lamjao Mayai Leikai, who participated in the surrender drama, was a cadre of UNLF who deserted his camp fearing Indian army.
Apart from Mangoljao, the other so called UNLF cadres namely Solendro alias Inaoton, Thangcha alias Lupheng and Tungdim Jangam alias Mangoljao were fake persons whose identities could not be traced.
UNLF has also come out strongly against the statement of BSF IG Manoharlal Batham who is reported to have said that violence would not bring any solution to the present conflict.
Asserting that Indian Army has been suppressing the people of the state with every possible means, UNLF cited the Sehlon incident in which AR personnel alletedly beat up 17 innocent civilians severely.
