For the second time, Sky Hospital, RIMS Road performed non-operative closure of holes in the hearts of four patients for the second time today without operation.
The holes were closed with a special plug called Am-platzer Septal Occluder device which is like a small umbrella.
Such procedure was performed using Flat Panel Cath Lab Machine and Trans Esophageal (TEE) Machine.

All patients are well and they would be discharged home after one day.
They would be able to resume their normal activities after seven days, said Sky Hospital chairman Dr Shyamkishore Lairikyekpam.
He said that the hospital would continue to provide similar services free of cost to families of Manipur and other Northeastern States belonging to BPL category.
Out of the four patients, no money was charged against three patients belonging to BPL families for the sophisticated medical procedure.
The three patients on whom non-operative closure of holes in hearts were performed without any charge are Naorem Melisa (8) d/o N Joy of Wangjing, Laishram Sushil (20) s/o L Manichandra of Khangabok Khullakpam Leikai Part-I and H Romila w/o Manglem of Uchiwa Mamang Leikai Turel Wangma.
