One dead in accident
A 69-year-old man succumbed to injuries at Shija Hospital after he was hit by a Honda Activa scooter on Saturday at around 9 am at Kodompokpi Lamkhai.
The deceased has been identified as Wangkhem Ibobi s/o (L) W Kula of Kodompokpi Lamkhai.
Thokchom Mangijao of Toubul Maning Leikai, who was driving the Activa, also got injured in the mishap and now he is undergoing treatment at Nambol Community Health Centre.
Books published
A function for publication of three books was held on Saturday at Thoubal College.
Dynamics of Women Reproductive Span (A reference book for demographic research) by Dr N Sharat, Applications of Fuzzy Sets and Fuzzy Logic in Regression Analysis by Dr Abdul Latif and Dr Th Biren, and Khunnai-Senmitlonda Neina Mityeng by Dr L Debendra were published at the function.
Dr Mohen re-appointed
Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch Dr Y Mohen has been re-appointed as Managing Committee Member of Indian Red Cross Society National Head Quarters, New Delhi for Eastern Zone on Friday.
Curfew relaxation
The indefinite curfew in the Imphal East and the Imphal West districts will be relaxed from 5 am to 8 pm on Sunday.
The two district magistrates have issued orders in this regard.
However, the restrictions under section 144 CrPC shall remain in force during the relaxation in both the districts.
