MKNEET felicitates meritorious students and environmental groups of Ukhrul

In its continued push for quality education and environment preservation in Ukhrul District, MK Ngazekngam Education & Environment Trust (MKNEET) Ukhrul felicitated a total of 22 meritorious students and 4 environmental societies of the district during its 2nd MK Ngazekngam Memorial Meritorious Award Ceremony held at Ukhrul Town Hall on Saturday.
In his speech as the Chief Guest, Ukhrul DC Hrisheekesh Modak lauded the relentless efforts of MKNEET, stating that the trust is rendering a magnificent service for the good of the society.
On behalf of MKNEET, DC Modak handed over the Meritorious Awards to top ten students from across the district and 12 first divisional students from Chingai-45 AC who passed the recent HSLC examination with high scores.
He also handed over Citations to 4 environmental societies Rashida Marem, Weshido Champhung, Rashido Longpi and National Green Corps Tusom CV in the name of the trust.
Lauding the awardees for their remarkable performance in their respective areas, Modak also called upon all students to strive for the best while urging the denizens of the district to partake in preservation of nature.
He further said that making a good investment in education and nature preservation would only secure our future.
Attending the function as Guest of Honour, Jessami SDO Jain also advocated sincerity, labour and perseverance for achieving success in life.
Convenor of MKNEET MK Somi Shimray, father of late MK Ngazekngam expounded the objectives and background of the trust.
Instituted in the year 2013 in memory of Educationist and Environmentalist Late MK Ngazekngam of Poi Village, MKNEET has since been involved in encouraging both students and environmentalists in pursuing quality education and preserving natural environments in the district, Somi said.
MKNEET extended its gratitude to the incumbent Deputy Speaker MK Preshow Shimray, brother of late MK Ngazekngam, for sponsoring the meritorious award ceremony, apart from nurturing the trust.
