Covid claims two more lives, infects 15

Imphal, March 13 2022:
The state on Sunday reported 15 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1111 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 1.4 per cent positivity rate against 1.27 per cent recorded on Saturday.
Two death cases were also reported on Sunday and the fatality tell rose to 2118 .
They were residents of Ukhrul and Kangpokpi districts.
One of them had received first dose vaccine while the other was unvaccinated.
Till date, the virus has claimed the lives of 193 vaccinated people of which 61 had received the second dose.
In the last 24 hours, 9 patients were discharged from home isolation (5), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (2). The active cases rose to 97 out of which 30 (30.92 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 290 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 114 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,203 positive cases and 116 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 208 new positive cases and 6 fatalities.
According to official reports, all the 15 fresh cases (5 male & 10 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (7) and other testing centres (8).The positive cases are from Imphal West (4), Thoubal (1), Kakching (2) and Chandel (8) districts.
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,991 (general population - 1,31,977 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,776 (general population - 1,29,773 and CAPF personnel - 5,003) and number of active cases is 97 (general population - 93 and CAPF personnel - 4) .
The recovery rate is 98.38 per cent.
A total of 348 D-type and 140 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 2925 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 15,22,340, out of which 11,65,371 had received second doses and 63,085 precautionary doses.
