11 AR conducts free medical camp in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, September 12 2011:
As many as 264 locals including 58 males, 114 females and 92 children of Sonpram and nearby villages of Tamenglong benefitted from the free medical camp organized by 11 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 59 Mountain Bridge at the remote village of Sonpram and nearby villages on 11 September 2011, said a press statement issued by 11 AR.
The Medical Team of 11 Assam Rifles was also accompanied by medical staff including Dr Pukhere, Gynaecologist from Tamenglong District Medical Authorities.
The Medical Camp marks the resolve of 11 AR to work for the people's welfare especially in far flung remote village of Tamenglong which lack basic amenities including medical facilities, the source said.
Besides providing medical assistance, Basic Health education including precaution of Malaria and Hygiene aspects was also imparted during the camp.
The released also said that 11 AR also plans to organize similar medical camps in Longpi and Tousem in the month of September as part of their theme based civic action activities.
Meanwhile, at Tamenglong free medical checkup for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya school Tamenglong were also organized by the Battalion.
Earlier school authority had approached the 11 Assam Rifles to provide medical assistance to school as the remote location of Tamenglong lacks medical facilities.
As part of free checkup for school students Blood Test, Urine Test, Eye Test were also conducted.
