Four hurt in bomb attack

Four members of a family including two girls and a mentally unsound youth have been injured in a bomb attack at Kyamgei Muslim Mayai Leikai last night.
On the other hand, unidentified persons threatened RIMS Director Shekharjit by lobbing a hand grenade at his residence.
One bomb which was hurled by some unidentified persons exploded at the roof top of Haji Abdul Gani, a retired teacher at Kyamgei Muslim Mayai Leikai last night.
The impact of the blast battered GI sheets covering the roof as well as other materials kept inside the house.
Moreover, two sisters Taslima (14) and Shaliha (11) who were sleeping together in one bed were hit by shrapnel on different parts of their bodies.
They are currently undergoing treatment at Raj Polyclinic.
Taslima is studying in class IX and Shaliha in Class V at Paradise Academy, Canchipur.

Both of them are grand-daughters of Haji Abdul Gani.
Abdul Wahab (32) and his mentally unsound younger brother Abdul Sattar (20) who were sleeping at the time of explosion also sustained injuries.
The two brothers are sons of Abdul Gani Haji and they are said to be out of danger.
According to Abdul Gani, there was no case of any monetary demand or threats from any UG group.
Taking strong exception to the bomb attack, local womenfolk and school students staged a protest demonstration today.
One woman leader appealed to all concerned to explain why such action was undertaken in civilians.
She also appealed not to repeat such mindless attacks in future.
Students and teachers of Paradise Academy also staged a sit-in-protest at Canchipur against injuring innocent Taslima and Shaliha.
On the other hand, one hand grenade suspected to have been hurled by some unidentified persons was discovered from the residential compound of RIMS Director Dr Shekharjit at Chingamakha at about 3.30 pm today.
The hand grenade which failed to go off was retrieved by explosive experts of Manipur Police and later set it off safely.
