Imphal, September 13 2013 :
The RIMS authority has reminded the doctors of the institute to desist from private practices at home, private clinics and hospitals since this is in violation of the rules.
Taking serious note over reports in media about this unethical practice by some doctors, the Director of RIMS has issued a circular to the heads of all departments of the institute warning that such cases would be seriously viewed and dealt with.
The RIMS authority has been issuing such circulars from time to time for compliance and warnings have also been issued to some individual doctors in this regard in the past.
Meanwhile, students and teachers of the medical institute have appealed to one and all not to vitiate the academic atmosphere in the institute.
The students from Manipur were admitted in RIMS this year more than one month late.
The teachers are contemplating of holding extra classes to make up the losses so that the students could secure good marks in the forthcoming examinations.
In the past students from Manipur used to secure high positions.
If the lost classes are not recouped these students cannot compete with those coming from other states of the region and India, according to a statement issued by the media advisor of RIMS.
