Churachandpur, September 07 2012:
On the occasion of 28th Anniversary celebration of Manipur Hills Journalists Union (MHJU), HAC Chairman Dr Chaltonlien Amo called upon the journalists in the State to be a harbinger of love and communal harmony.
Dr Amo, who graced the function as chief guest, said that the "media should serve as ambassador of peace" and it has to take the role of "reconstructing and regenerating the society" .
In a subtle reference to Manipur, he felt that the State has been tampered with differences and that the media should spread the good news of love and communal harmony.
He also noted that the freedom of press has always been suppressed in the State and the media practitioners have endured hardship to feed information to the people.
