ZU-AMN elects new president

Imphal, May 30 2020:
Azang Rongmei, the newly elected president of Zeliangrong Union of Assam, Manipur & Nagaland (ZU-AMN) said on Saturday that he will work for peace, unity and integrity of all the communities of Manipur during his tenure.
He further said that his "foremost objective" is to bring unity among the "cognate tribes of Zeliangrong which is segregated into different small tribe councils from the original apex body of ZU (AMN)" .
Azang Rongmei has been elected as the president of ZU(AMN) for the tenure of 2020-2023 .
According to the union secretary, the oath-taking ceremony of the new president was held on Saturday at the Union head office at Kakhulong (Paona Bazar) in Imphal.
G Namdon, who is the ex-acting president of the union, administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new president.
The ceremony was participated by leaders of the Union, its former executives and well-wishers.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Azang Rongmei expressed his gratitude to the people for electing him as the president of the Union "to serve the people" .
The new president of ZU (AMN) also said that he will discharge his duties faithfully and sincerely.
