Imphal, April 05 2015 :
The power supply in Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts will remain cut off for at least ten days.
The official announcement comes shortly after the inspection of the power sub stations by the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi just two days ago.
The transmission lines snapped and towers crumbled like a house of cards since these could not withstand the low grade storm which hit some parts of the district last night.
A notification issued by the Managing Director of the Manipur State Power Company Ltd, Imphal said that the transmission lines had collapsed under the impact of the storm.
These lines connect Ningthoukhong and Churachandpur.
It will take between seven to ten days to restore the transmission lines.
There will be no supply of power to the consumers in these areas in the two districts during this period.
During the inspection high officials including the managing director had accompanied the chief minister.
The chief minister was obviously satisfied by the official inputs.
