Imphal, April 05 2011:
The United Kuki Liberation Front has expressed displeasure on the government's verification act upon the outfit on March 28 last, for the dispersion act of the KNA/KNO group at Chalep Camp on March, 2011 .
A statement of the outfit signed by its information and publicity secretary, JM Zou asked why government is turning blind on KNA's act of breaking the SoO ground rules of forming and sponsoring new insurgent outfits.
Why is the government ignorance when KNA has clearly broken the ground rules by forcefully deducing 55% of the compensation allotted to the ICP, Moreh from the public? The UKLF wants answer from the government of what its real motive are by collaborating with groups like KNA who do not honour the SoO, the statement said.
"In complete disregard to the ground rules, KNA has created and sponsored new insurgent outfit like UMLA, KNLF, PAKAN, UKRA and extorting money from public.
These groups operate from Moreh, Tengnoupal, Tuibong, CCpur, Sangaikot and exercise their self serving agendas upon the public," the statement said reiterating that government is remaining as silent spectator even such things are going on.
The outfit warned the government not to repeat the tactics of unwanted verification on UKLF when the act was actually perpetrated by the KNO group.
"The UKLF condemns and issues warning to KNA/KNO not to paint a wrong picture of the UKLF to the government when they themselves are the culprits" .
The UKLF operates on the principle of reunification and does not encourage or invite any group who jumps from one camp to the other.
Since signing the SoO, the UKLF has adhered to the agreement not only in principle but in action for the sake of maintaining peace and order in the state, the statement asserted.
