Parijat sounds death knell of Govt without CPI

CPI have not cohabited with the Congress party.
It has only become a partner in the formation of the Government in consideration of some important issues of the State, veteran Communist leader and Minister of Agriculture & CADA in the ruling SPF Government Ph Parijat has stated.
Addressing the 31st local conference of Communist Party of India (CPI) organised by Sugnu Local Council, CPI at Wangoo Laipham today, Minister Parijat said that the SPF Govt may crumpled if CPI withdraws its support.
Stating that his party had been floated not on the base of election, Minister Parijat said that unlike other political parties, CPI does not field its candidates on consideration of wealth possession.
CPI is the true friend of the workers and farmers.
Only those who understand the worth of the farmers should be included as party members, Minister Parijat said, while questioning what would be the use of claiming that around 2000 members have joined, if they are going to shift allegiance from one political party to another every now and then.
On the public demand for repealing AFSPA, Minister Parijat categorically stated that imposition of AFSPA is giving additional power to the armed forces.
Everytime, Manipur threatens to break away from India, more Central forces are being deployed in Manipur in the name of protecting the territorial integrity and unit of India.
Now, there is the need to analyse whether the Act is serving any purpose or not.
Ex-Minister Dr M Nara said that CPI has been taking a leading role in various important issues of the State and the country.
CPI has been launching protest against price rise.
Pointing out alleged flaws in the existing education system in Manipur, Dr Nara asserted that in some parts of the State like Moreh and Tamenglong district, students are giving examinations without reading books.
Social worker Y Jiban observed that peace in Manipur can be brought about only after the problem of unemployment could ne solved.
Politicians in Manipur also need to be sincere and understand their responsibilities towards the State and its people, he added.
The conference was attended by Kh Chandra, Th Sanatomba, A Pakpa and L Irabot as presidium members.
Ex-MLA Th Tomba, State Executive member of CPI Y Dhananjoy, district secretary Y Chaoba, State executive member N Singhajit, Councillors of Kakching Khunou Nagar Panchayat Th Sanahal, Kh Nandini, and ex-Chairperson S Memthoi were also present at the conference.
