Ashagee Mangal materials for 4th phase distributed

Materials for the 4th phase of livelihood project "Ashagee Mangal" was distributed today at the premises of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur State Branch at MG Avenue, Imphal.
This project is supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), NHQ- New Delhi.
During the program, 80 beneficiaries (widows) were given materials worth Rs 50,000 each according to their choice of businesses such as weaving, embroidery and tailoring, grocery, poultry, fish farming, etc.
IRCS, State Chairman, Dr Y Mohen Singh, State Secretary, Dr RK Nimai Singh and Project Director Dr N Amulkumar were in the dais.
The project was implemented in the State in 2016 and it covers four districts - Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal.
Along with these 80 beneficiaries, altogether 322 widows have been benefited under the project.
IRCS, Manipur expressed gratitude to ICRC and IRCS, NHQ for supporting the project.
One beneficiary Akoijam Sorojini Devi from the second phase also came and motivated the colleagues by narrating her struggles in becoming a self-sustained entrepreneur.
