3 months Film Acting Training programme kicks off

A 3 month Film Acting Training Course organised by Khenjonglang Theatre Complex and Ipak Films Production Manipur and sponsored by Department of Art & Culture, kicked off today in a programme held at Irilbung Keirao Khunou.
The programme was attended by Y Radheshyam, ML A Hiyanglam AC; Dr S Manaoton Singh, Advisor Ipak Films Production Manipur; Prof Nongmaithem Tombi Singh, former Vice-Chairman JN Dance Academy; S Mangoljao Singh, Chairman Film Forum Manipur and Shamurailatpam Nabachandra Sharma, Coordinator Art and Culture as presidium members.
Radheshyam said the three months training programme will be a very important one and trainees should attend the training regularly to get the full benefit of the training to be conducted under the supervision of Dr S Thaninleima, Director Khenjonglang Theatre, who had been trained in National School of Drama.
Prof Nongmaithem Tombi said there was a need to organise drama festivals and showcase the journey of Ratan Thiyam's drama to the world.
S Mangoljao said that there have been short film and acting training courses earlier but such long duration training on film and acting was the first of its kind in the State and Film Forum Manipur is extending its full support to such programmes.
Dr S Manaoton lauded Ipak Films for their continued labour towards not only development of Manipuri films but also for uniting the dispersed Manipuri community through arts and films.
He added that the online registration for 'Khapri International Short Fiction Film Festival-2021' organised by Ipak Films Production Manipur was open and urged Manipuri speaking communities spread the world over to submit their films in the festival.
Sh Nabachandra Sharma assured that the Khenjonglang Theatre Complex will be upgraded to the status of a full fledged theatre complex with assistance from the Government and Sangeet Natak Academy.
A book titled 'Ratan Thiyamgi Theatre' authored by Dr S Thaninleima was also released at the programme.
