Imphal, January 27 2016:
The organising committee of the mass rally scheduled for February 6 has appealed to all the people of Manipur irrespective of ethnicity, religion and topography to join the rally.
Speaking to media persons at their Lamphelpat office today, UCM president and the organising committee's convenor Johnson Elangbam said that the Mass Rally for Common Future of Manipur is being organised by AMUCO, UCM, CCSK and many key civil society organisations of different communities.
The rally would be flagged off from THAU Ground at 9.30 am and it would wind up at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium after passing through Khoyathong, Wahengbam Leikai, Keishampat, Sanjenthong and Minuthong.
Appealing to the State Government to support the rally at the level of the Chief Minister, Johnson urged the Government to shut all departments on February 6 so that Government employees too can participate the rally.
He further appealed to the medical fraternity and transport organisations to contribute their mites so as to make the rally a grand success.
People of Manipur have been living together and there is no inter-community conflicts.
Diabolic politics should not be allowed to vitiate the cordial atmosphere, Johnson added.
AMUCO president and mobilization committee's convenor Dr Y Mani Khuman appealed to each and every community of Manipur to participate in the rally.
If any community stays away from the rally, the term 'common future of Manipur' would be rendered incomplete or meaningless, Dr Mani said.
