Bomb blasts

Imphal, June 07 2016:
Unidentified persons exploded a bomb near Reliance Mobile tower at Thoubal Achouba Pakhangkhong Leirak under Thoubal police station at around 9.10 am today.
According to a source, the bomb was suspected to be an low intensity IED.
The miscreants exploded the bomb at the back side of the residential compound of one Leishangthem Sanathoi (33) s/o (L) Ibotombi.
Although no one was injured, a portion of the con- crete fencing and iron gate of the Reliance Mobile tower were damaged by the blast.
Soon after the incident, a team of Thoubal police led by Additional SP Modhunimai and 2 Assam Rifles personnel inspected the blast site.
Thoubal police have taken up a case regarding the incident.
Later, womenfolk of the locality staged a sit-in-protest against the incident.
They put up placards that read 'we condemn bomb attack' and 'we want peace' etc.
A woman protester asked the concerned organisation why they had carried out the attack.
She urged the organisation to resolve any misun- derstanding, if any, peacefully.
Meanwhile, another bomb exploded at the residential gate of Integrated Child Development Scheme, Moirang Block, CDPO Laishram (O) Phulobati (56) of Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak at around 8:10 pm today.
According to information culled from the spot, the bomb, believed to be a low intensity IED, exploded near the residential gate of the Moirang Block, CDPO where garbages were piled up.
There is no report of any casualty other than some shattered window panes.
A case has been registered at Lamphel police station.
