Imphal, June 07 2016:
Nungba Village Authority, ZSU, Nungba Area
and local youth organisations have jointly sub-
mitted a memorandum to the Governor
regarding inadequate posting of teachers and
other medical staff members in Nungba Com-
munity Health Centre.
There are only three Medical Officers while staff nurses
who have been issued transfer notice in April 2016 are yet
to join the CHC.
One MO and one Ayush doctor were
transferred out of the CHC and the vacant posts are yet to
be filled, the memorandum stated.
Three MOs and one health worker have been absent
from the last three, four months.
There is no radiologist in the CHC though X-ray ma-
chine has been installed.
Since there is no water supply in
the CHC, patients have been purchasing water at exorbitant
price.
The CHC building is also in deplorable condition and
should be repaired at the earliest, the memorandum said.
It urged the Governor to look into the grievances of the
villagers and direct the department concerned to take up
necessary steps at the earliest.
It also stated that the villagers would launch agitation
along NH-37 in case the demands are not met.
