Imphal, June 07 2016:
BJP Manipur Pradesh has said that it was unfortunate to hold back the Central Government's reply on the three Bills by the Chief Minister for many days.
BJP Manipur Pradesh media affairs secretary L Basanta, who is part of the all-political parties delegation to Delhi, told reporters after returning to Imphal today that the Central Government had sent a written reply to the State Government regarding the three Bills on May 11 last.
However, the Chief Minister kept it secret for many days and revealed the matter during a meeting of the all political parties delegation only yesterday in Delhi, he said.
He said that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh told the State BJP team during a meeting that the State Government or the Chief Minister never sought an appointment to meet him regarding the three Bills passed by the State Assembly.
Basanta further said that the Chief Minister never sought an appointment to meet the Union Home Minister before the all-political parties delegation went to Delhi on June 3 .
He said that the State Government could not provide a copy of the letter seeking appointment from the Union Home Minister.
BJP State election management committee convenor Th Chaoba said that the State Government must explain why the all-political parties delegation was asked to leave the State capital on June 3 if the Chief Minister had to arrive Delhi on June 5 and the Deputy Chief Minister on June 6 .
The State BJP team met the Union Home Minister as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister did not come to Delhi on time, Th Chaoba said.
