Guru Kirtan with three Nat Sankirtan performances was held on the first day of Holi on 16th March last at Kalimai Mandap Imphal.
Elangbam Chand Singh, MLA of Yaiskul was Chief Guest of the inaugural function of the Guru Kirtan sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Videshwar Sharma, Art and Culture Director Dr..KSobita Devi, Padmashree Y.Gambhini Devi and Padmashree Ksh.
Thouranisabi Devi graced as the Guests of Honour in the function presided over by Prof..PNabachandra Singh of Manipur University.
Eminent Sankirtan performer Laishram Itomcha Singh, Maisnam Gouradas, L.Lakpati Singh, E Chaobhal Singh and others performed the two episodes of male Nat Sankirtan, while Govindajee Raseshori Pala Marup displayed the Raseshori Pala during the Kirtan.
The female Sankirtan group was led by RK Yumjaosana Devi and E.Suhasini Devi as the Esei Hanbi and Dohar respectively.
The Manipuri Nat Sankirtan is an art form conceived by the famous king Karta Bheigyachandra in the 18th Century.
Sankirtan with ritual singing, drumming and dancing has been selected for inscription in the Representative list of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; while Raseshori pala is the first ever group of female singers of Sankirtan in Manipur.
