RS MP Sanajaoba for protection of Archeological and historical documents

Rajya Sabha MP from Manipur Maharaj Leishemba Sanajaoba today drew the attention of the parliament housefor establishment of Speicial Task Force for the protection of the Archeological site and
Historical monument of the state of Manipur.
Speaking during the zero hour, Sanajoaba said that the Manipur State Archeology was established in 1978 to preserve the ancient monuments and archeological site as well as for its maintenance.
In addition to this the state Archeology department has been exploring to find more antique and ancient treasures.
The department has also so far discovered various archeological
sites at various places and awareness programme about the need for its perseverance has been conducting from time to time.
The RS MP of Manipur Sanajaoba further said that the ancient treasures are being
protected under the Manipur ancient and historical monument and archeological sites and remain act 1976 as of now.
All together there are 63 archeological sites detected in the state of Manipur.
Among these treasures some monuments and archeological sites some are located at the Internatinal Borders and some at sate borders.
The MP gave example of the Memorial site of Chandrakiti Maharaj at Behiang of Churachandpur district, the Magalith stones at Mao etc.
Sanjaoba drew the attention of the house about the need for establishmen of Special Task Force for protection of the national treasures.
