Imphal, September 13 2021: Rice was distributed to around 293 poverty stricken families in Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal districts today.

The distribution programme was carried out by Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) and All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) as a part of their continued efforts to extend help to impoverished households worst hit by COVID-19 pandemic.

Longjam Memchoubi, president Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur, Pheiroijam Nando Luwang, president AMUCO and Yumkhaibam Kunjarani, president AMAWOVA among others were present during the distribution programme, said a press note released by Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur.

AMUCO volunteers travelled to various places in Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal District and distributed rice to the selected households.

This was accomplished with the support of the local clubs, meirapaibis etc.

The three forenamed organisations have communicated their resolve to continue such efforts in the future, added the statement.
