Imphal, September 07 2012:
Expressing strong reservation against the alleged indifferent attitude of the State Government towards body builder Arambam Bobby, who have won several national and international medals and demanding that incentive awards also be given to him as done in the case of other state players, the body builders and coaches staged a sit-in-protest at Keishampat Junction here today.
The protest demonstration was staged under the aegis of United Gym Manipur, which is located at Naoremthong.
Talking to mediapersons on the sideline of the protest demonstration, S Dhruba, coach of United Gym Manipur asserted that even though the state government has been providing incentive awards to outstanding players, it has completely sidelined the body builders of the state who also won various medals both at the national and international events, thus bringing laurels to the state and the nation.

Dhruba observed that steps taken up by the State government to encourage players along with providing incentives and government jobs is indeed praiseworthy.
But the attitude of the State Government towards body builder A Bobby, who has not only been the National Champion for 13 times but also bagged the Mr World Body Building Championship by giving him a mere amount of Rs 2 lakhs is questionable.
The meager amount of Rs 2 lakhs can hardly meet the diet requirement of the body builder.
"It is not only with Bobby, but also with other body builders of the state including Kishan, Junior Mister World and first runners up of Junior Mister World L London", he lamented.
Dhruba appealed to the State Government to provide assistance to A Bobby who is going to participate in the Mister World championship scheduled to be held at Thailand from December 6 to 10, 2012 .
