'Govt making efforts on providing heath services to all'

The Government of Manipur has made tremendous efforts in extending heath facilities to all the districts and remote corners of the State by recruiting doctors, specialists and other supporting staff, claimed Chief Minister O Ibobi on Saturday.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the inaugural function of XXII East Zone PEDICON & XIX MANIPEDICON 2015 here at the City Convention Centre, Imphal as the Chief Guest.
The Addressing the gathering, Ibobi spoke on the theme of this year's conference - "Holistic Approach to Child Care: Advancing Forward" .
In his speech, the Chief Minister pointed out that Children are not miniature adults and that they are different in physiological, physical, psychological, emotional and social aspects form the adults.
"Therefore while caring a child we should not address only the physical illness but the whole aspects of the developing child to make a responsible person in future.
Indeed in many cases we have to take a 360 degree look while caring a child," said Ibobi.

Exuding confidence that the ongoing conference will provide a platform for the exchange of fast developing medical knowledge in child caring, he also stated that the State Government is looking at some of the issues the State is facing in the field of health services especially in women and child health care.
He mentioned that Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) of Manipur is 10 per 1000 live births and 60 per one lakh live births and said that Manipur achieved this feet consecutively for last three years.
"The State Government has also given top priority to health sector in terms of manpower and infrastructure.
We have recruited doctors, specialists and other supporting medical staffs to extend health facilities to all districts and remotest corner of the state," he said.
The Chief Minister said that this year, Manipur has received award from Times Group for best performing State in Health Sector in small State category and lauded the medical fraternity in the State.
He also appreciated the organisers for bringing together leading specialists to share knowledge and skills with a view to providing quality healthcare in the country especially in child care.
The Chief Minister stated that the State Government is dedicated to ensure a better healthcare system for our citizens and we focuses on health insurances to citizens; financial assistance to poor people; enhancing the infrastructure facilities at district and sub-district level hospitals; use of technologies like tele-medicine to reach to the remotest corners of the State.
He also placed on record that Manipur has its goal set to provide medical services to the neighbouring Myanmar.
Those who attended the function include Dr Arabinda Mohanty, President East Zone Academy of Paediatrics who was also the President of the Functions; Dr Ksh Chourjit Singh, Executive Member of Central IAP and many other eminent Guests.
