2 killed, 3 injured in road mishap; SDCU condoles

Kangpokpi, December 05 2015 :
Two elderly persons including a teacher were killed and three others sustained injuries in a road mishap along the Trans Asian Highway between Maram Centre and Maram Bazaar in Senapati district at around 8 am on Saturday.
The incident occurred when a Tata sumo taxi carrying nine passengers on Church duties plunged into a gorge along the highway.
The ill-fated vehicle was about to take a turn at a curve when the accident happened and the vehicle turned turtle killing two persons on the spot, said an eyewitness.
The deceased persons have been identified as Kh Vowa (60) and D Nakhu (45), a district council teacher while the three injured persons were identified as S Thaisii (50), serving as a Manipur Rifles jawan; M Thaisii (40), cultivator and Th Sehii (55), a district council teacher.
Those who sustained injuries have been admitted to Shija Hospital, Imphal.
The three who were injured have been admitted to CMC Hospital, Koirengei .
They are RS Daile, a church leader, MP Henii, a carpenter by profession and Ng Kha, serving as a Manipur Rifles jawan and posted at DC Office Complex, Senapati.
The driver has been identified as Ng Dahii and he suffered four broken rips and arm dislocation.
Meanwhile, the Senapati District Catholic Union (SDCU) has offered condolence to the bereaved family members of the deceased.
SDCU also wished speedy recovery to those who were injured in the accident.
