Masks for scribes

Imphal, May 05 2020:
The Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicrafts Artisans CS Ltd (AWAS) donated 'handloom masks' to All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) for journalists today.
AWAS chairman, K Indira said that the masks were provided to the journalists as a mark of respect for their dedicated services during COVID-19 outbreak.
AWAS is planning to provide the handloom masks to relief committees of all Constituencies set up under respective MLAs, added Indira.
Stating that AWAS is facing shortage of raw materials, she appealed Chief Minister and Minister concerned to provide raw materials for making the masks.
AWAS has about 30,000 masks in its stock, she added.
AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam thanked AWAS for the assistance.
The masks have been distributed to media houses.
Meanwhile, AWAS has also provided masks to Relief Centre for Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, All Tribal Disable Union and Hope Home at Takyel Khongbal.
