NSS volunteers of DBC Maram observes 'Swachhta Hi Seva'

National Service Scheme of Don Bosco College, Maram has joined 'Swachhta Hi Seva' a civic led mass movement on September 24 in view of the celebration of NSS day.
About 268 NSS volunteers were actively involved in the cleanliness drive by enthusiastically taking up the brooms and garbage bags and clean up every nook and corner of the class rooms, corridors, college campus, toilets and nearby areas.
The volunteers also extended the cleanliness drive to nearby villages at Ramlung, Kabinam, Kavanam, Maram Centre, Maram Bazar and NH-2 .
Earlier, a cleanliness awareness rally was held before the commencement of cleanliness drive while the volunteers also prepared the posters and wall-painting on the importance of cleanliness.
In the cleanliness drive, the volunteers also cleaned the ponds and drainages in the villages while people of the villages appreciated the selfless act of the volunteers.
The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the staff, students and people of nearby villages.
The volunteers realized that any work is best done when it is carried out by the person himself.
It also made the volunteers aware of the dignity of labour.
