Imphal, November 23 2019:
BJP Manipur State Unit spokesperson Ch Bijoy has claimed that the CBI raid at the residences of ex Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and 8 other individuals in connection with the Rs 332 misappropriation scam concerning Manipur Development Society (MDS), will show the true face of the once great political leaders of Manipur to the public.
Speaking to media persons, Bijoy further claimed that the CBI raid also shows the true intent of the BJP Government in combating corruption.
This act is a slap on the face of those who earlier claimed that the BJP is good only with words and not with action.
The recovery of Rs 28 lakh in old demonetised currency notes, is not a small issue and is a crime.
Such currencies, which were not able to get exchanged with new notes in the banks, are all black money, he said.
Bijoy continued that this is a new dawn for Manipur and expressed belief that the Union Home Ministry and CBI will also take up similar actions regarding the LDA scam and the construction of tribal boys hostel.
On the other hand, talking about the Framework Agreement and the issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), the spokesperson alleged that the Congress party has a large hand in creating the unrest and tension among the general public of the State.
They are covering the truth and spreading only half baked lies so as to create apprehension among the people as a form of political game plan, he alleged.
The Naga peace talks has been on for around 22 years and the Congress party clearly knows all the details about when the movement began and what are the demands.
However instead of being transparent, the Congress party is planting seeds of doubts and unrest among the people, he claimed.
He then explained that only two points are in the FA, one being the process of dropping all demands of sovereignty by NSCN (IM) and instead coming for a talk as per the Constitution and other is for not claiming any boundaries/territories of neighbouring States without proper agreement.
Bijoy then accused the Congress of generating negativity even before the final pact is signed.
