Ready for Covid vaccination in Patsoi AC: MLA Mirabai

Reminding that vaccination is the only way to prevent COVID-19 as of now, Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai has appealed to people of Patsoi assembly constituency to get the COVID-19 vaccine without any fear so that the assembly segment could be free from the virus.
The MLA also announced that mass vaccination programme for the people of Patsoi assembly constituency will start soon and 15 places for the programme have been identified.
Mirabai announced this in a video message delivered to people of the constituency on Sunday about various steps taken up to contain COVID-19 in Patsoi AC.
She said that vaccination is the only way to prevent COVID-19 at present and preparation has been made for mass vaccination programme for people above 18 years of age after mass testing drive conducted in between June 1 to 17.The vaccination programme will be carried out in coordination with DC Imphal West and 15 vaccination centres have been identified and two/three localities will be clubbed together at one centre and the vaccination programme will be conducted in phase wise manner very soon.
While stating that she has been working hard to contain the pandemic ever since it hit the state, Mira- bai conveyed that she has been following instructions from the government on tackling the pandemic apart from shouldering the responsibility as an elected representative of the people of the constituency.
Accordingly, quarantine centres were opened to shelter state natives returning from other states of the country during the first wave of the pandemic in 2020 and Community Home Isolation Centres have been opened to shelter positive people during the second wave, she said and appealed to COVID-19 positive people of the constituency to take advantage of the CHICs opened at State Academy of Training, Takyelpat and St Joseph school, Sangaiprou till getting negative result.
She also said that relief assistance is being provided to families under containment zones and home isolation families and this will continue.
In addition to PMGKAY rice announced by the Prime Minister for the months of May and June, additional quantity of rice was procured from her side and provided the same to each and every family of the constituency irrespective of being NFSA card holders or not and this has mitigated suffering of the people at least to some extent.
Rice for the month of May have been distributed and the same for the month of June will be distributed soon, she added.
