Nursing institutes should be more practical oriented: CDC Director

Kangleipak Medical and Nursing Institute organised its 9th lamp lighting ceremony at Khurai Konsam Leikai today.
Manipur University Dean as well as College Development Council (CDC) Director Professor Th Ratankumar, while speaking as chief guest of the function, stressed on the role and responsibilities of a nurse in the society.
He continued that giving medicines to patients does not justify the true nature of a nurse but nurturing and giving loving care towards patients is also important.
As such, those who are in this field should be extra cautious of patients' sentiments and work efficiently and with dedication, he added.

Lauding the upcoming initiative of opening a MSc Nursing course at the institute, MU Dean stated that it will strengthen and uphold the profession.
He stated that Manipur University will offer every possible support if other nursing institutes posses necessary criteria and infrastructure to seek approval from Nursing Council of India so as to set up MSc Nursing course.
Professor Ratankumar expressed desire for nursing institutes in the State to be more practical oriented apart from the theory classes.
Retired Professor MU N Joykumar, Manipur Nursing Council Registrar Kh Rama and ex-Nursing Superintendent JNIMS Porompat Pebam Landhoni attended the function as dignitaries.
