Minister opens MSU's cultural meet

PHE Minister Losii Dikho has inaugurated Maralui Karalimei S wij oikang (Maram Student' Union) cultural meet on January 12 at Sadim Lizai Village.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of MLA Awangbow Newmai; K.Raisong, president, Maram Union; Ngajokpa Francis, ex-Minister; K.Raina former Deputy Speaker; A Rang, Executive Member, ADC; Rangpung John, Member ADC; L Luba Thomas; Member ADC; Ninoto Awomi, president NSF; Bipin Ahanthem, secretary-general AMSU and Vareiyo Satshang, president ATSUM among others.
Various traditional instruments, dances, folk songs were performed during the event.
Traditional attires, arts, instruments, handicraft and food foods were displayed at various stalls.
Addressing the gathering, Dikho lauded Maram Students' Union for organizing the cultural programme with a significant theme 'Preserving Culture for prosperity' .
Speaking about the problem faced by the locals of Sadim Lizai Village due to water scarcity, the Minister assured that he would analyse the situation with the officials of PHED and take immediate measures to solve the problem at the earliest.
Saying that the Central Government has sanctioned Rs 3200 crore to provide potable water to every household of the State, the Minister suggested that the villagers can harvest rainwater and filter pond water for daily uses.
