Imphal, July 09 2015 : Locals of Pallel, Khongnang Achouba today caught two individuals along with heroin powder today.

One Maibam (O) Bina Devi (40), w/o M Brojen Singh of Yairipok Nongbram, presently residing in Pallel, Chandel Lamkhai was caught red-handed by the locals while selling the heroin to one PR Renu (40), w/o PR Samson Maring, residing at a rented house in Pallel Thongkhong, said a statement issued by the Social Development Organisation (SDO), Pallel, Khongnang Achouba.

The estimated value of the drug powder is Rs 2800 .

While interrogating, the duo admitted to the offence before the locals, said the statement.

A public meeting was held after that at Shumang Pallel Khongnang Achouba where it resolved to banish Bina Devi and PR Renu from Pallel under Thoubal district.

The locals also resolved to ostracise any individual from the village who tries to give shelter or any kind of assistance to the duo.

The meeting also decided to hand over both the individuals to the police.
