Imphal, July 09 2015 :
The JAC constituted against the killing of Sapam Robinhood has categorically stated that the mortal remains of the student would be claimed only after the State Assembly passes a new Bill.
Talking with The Sangai Express, JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Sapam Robinhood alias Thoi convenor M Samananda said that they would launch different modes of agitation against the Government.
The JAC and the masses would launch intense forms of agitation from tomorrow itself.
Maintaining that imposition of curfew is not reasonable, Samananda said that the masses would not cow down.
It's now time to see whether the State Government and its security forces can defeat people's movements.
Taking serious note of the disappearance of indigenous Tripuris in Tripura and steady outgrowth of indigenous Assamese by migrant population in Assam, the JCILPS launched the movement to protect the indigenous communities of Manipur, he added.
The Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers should be taught a lesson for their complete indifference to the public issue and for killing a student who was taking part in a democratic agitation.
He also sought support from the JCILPS, student community and other civil organisations towards the JAC's agitation.
Robinhood has already earned the title of Yelhoumi Kanbagi Lamjing Meira and the JAC as well as the family are ready to sacrifice his mortal remains in exchange for an meaningful legislation which can protect the indigenous people, Samananda said.
Meanwhile, ICHAM president N Rajendro has condemned the killing of Sapam Robinhood in the strongest term.
He also questioned Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam's claim that there were no lapses on the part of security forces.
