Food Security will come after September

Necessary works will be started under Food and Security Act in the State after the end of September, Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution (CAFNPD) Minister M Okendro said while answering to the questions of MLA's on CAFNPD demand.
Minister Okendro revealed that continuous effort has been made to fully activate Targeted Public Distribution System in the state.
Beneficiary lists of the state under Food Security Act have been prepared.
Plan has also been made to update all the information on website regarding the monthly beneficiary commodities under Food Security.
The Minister also appealed full co-operation of MLAs and public to fully organize the activities of Food Security.
Answering to another demand raised by MLAs Sericulture Minister K Govindas said that necessary plan has been made to take up Sericulture Phase II in the State.
E-Monitoring System will be launched through GIS to fully activate the Phase II.
Centre has granted the permission since Manipur's soil as well as environment is very much suitable for Sericulture activities.
Centre has also granted permission to take up Integrated Sericulture Development Programme in the state and Rs.39 crore will be sanctioned for this.
While discussing on demands of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Deputy CM who also hold the portfolio of Tribal Development answered that the oath taking of winning candidates in the recently held ADC Members will be held in this month.
Discussion is going on to conduct the oath taking in their respective District Headquarters.
Adding that the exact time for oath taking has not been specified in ADC Act, Govt.has been trying to make it fast.
The fund for the development of the hills was alleged to be misused and the minister said that if there are specific charges with evidence inquiries will be held to punish the guilty ones.During the demand discussion of the Fisheries Department, Minister Abdul Nasir said that there is need to augment the fish production.
Now the fish production is 30,000 MT whereas the demand is 40,000 MT.
Later the House passed bills on many demands which were, Demand No 9 Information and Publicity Rs 52576000; Demand No 14 Tribal Development Rs 4317417000; Demand No 15 CAFNPD Rs 228915000; Demand No 27 Election Rs 84510000; Demand No 37 Fisheries Rs 273554000; Demand No 38 Panchayat Rs 614565000 and Demand No 39 Sericulture Rs 241399000 .
