Church seeks support for South Sudan civil war victims

Aizawl, June 03 2014:
In view of the outbreak of civil war in South Sudan that led to bloodshed and brutal death of large number of civilians, the United Evangelical Lutheran Churches in India (UELCI) sought help from different churches across the country including Mizoram's whereby intimating that each church member must be made aware about the cause and cruelty of civil war in African country and hence remember it in prayer to re-instate peace and tranquility in that country.
The divine and prayer invitation by UELCI was earlier sent to Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla and 6 para churches in Mizoram.
The invitation letter humbly requests for prayer help from Mizoram churches in order to restore peace in the Civil war hit South Sudan.
The same invitation copy was then dispatched by the Chief Minister on his own interest in which the chief minister indicated that he re-sent the invitation letter from the Executive Secretary of United Lutheran Churches in India to different church bodies in Mizoram for necessary and immediate action in case the invitation did not reach churches.
